united through reading

I am often asked what people can do to help members of the military while they are deployed. Here is a suggestion. I found this program at the Dallas airport as I waited to return to Iraq after a little R&R with my family. The volunteers in the Reading Room were very polite. They helped me find a book for my daughter, made a DVD of me reading the book, and mailed the book, the DVD, and a stuffed animal that matched the theme of the book to my daughter, all at no cost to me or my family. A service like this is especially nice because it touches the lives of those who are deployed as well as the loved ones waiting at home.
